Commissioner Brian Painter Kicks Off Campbell County Farm and Livestock Expo
Commissioner Brian Painter welcomed farmers, families, and friends to the Campbell County Farm and Livestock Expo. After two straight years of rain on Expo day, the sun finally cooperated, and the result was a packed celebration of our local farming community.
Commissioner Painter said Campbell County is committed to our agricultural community, and we are proud of the farmers and families who make it strong. He pointed to the County's support of the Campbell County Extension Agriculture Complex in Grants Lick as a clear example of that commitment in action.
With the County's support, the Campbell County Extension Agriculture Complex will offer safe livestock handling facilities, soil and hay analysis, and space for education and local farm product sales. These services give Campbell County farmers the tools they need to keep their operations strong and to pass that strength on to the next generation.
Commissioner Painter also voiced support for Conservation District Executive Director Patti Dischar and her team in their work to protect Campbell County's soil, water, and rural land for the next generation.
The Expo offered something for every age and interest:
- A tractor driving contest, sponsored by Kubota Tractor of the Tri-State, Farm Bureau, and Cedar Hill Farms
- A horse show hosted by the Northern Kentucky Horse Network
- A dog herding demonstration
- A farm, lawn, and garden auction by Double H Auction Service
- Antique farm equipment from the Licking Valley Antique Machinery Association
- Cheeseburgers from the Campbell County Cattle Association
Events like the Farm and Livestock Expo give residents a chance to connect directly with farmers, learn how their food is grown, and see the work being done to protect rural land and natural resources.
The County continues to invest in the south end of Campbell County. From cleaner water and air to a strong local food supply, the work of our farmers touches every household in the county.
Campbell County Fiscal Court thanks every farmer, family, partner, and volunteer who made this year's Expo a success.
