New water fill station now open — closer access for 270 families

Campbell County Judge/Executive Steve Pendery, joined by Commissioners Brian Painter and Tom Lampe, opened the new Race Track Road Water Fill Station Tuesday alongside leadership from the Northern Kentucky Water District (NKWD). The new station brings closer access to clean drinking water for nearly 270 families in the nearby area who are not yet connected to the public water system.

"In Campbell County, quality of life is a commitment, not a goal,” said Judge/Executive Pendery. “ Working with the Northern Kentucky Water District and Campbell Fire/Rescue, we've expanded public water access to 98 percent of households, above the statewide average, and the Race Track Road Water Fill Station gives nearby families a closer option while we work toward public water at every home." 

The progress, by the numbers

• 40% reduction in unserved Campbell County households thanks to NKWD's partnership with the Campbell County Fiscal Court
• 98% of households served in Campbell County, above the state average
• Almost 4.4 million gallons of water were sold through Campbell County fill stations in 2025 alone

The new station is simple to use. Pull up, drop in a quarter or a dollar bill, and the station dispenses water. One quarter buys 36 gallons. No appointment needed.
